Emergency Management is the planning and response to major emergency situations that would have an adverse effect on the community or its residents.  Such incidents may include natural and/or man made disasters involving severe weather, flooding, fires, blizzards, pandemics, chemical, biological, nuclear and/or explosive events.

If you would like to register as a volunteer in the event of an emergency, please complete the Volunteer Registration Form (CLICK HERE for form).   Completed forms can be dropped off in the Selectmen's Office or emailed to alexandrianh@metrocast.net.  


Abnormally dry conditions have persisted throughout the majority of the summer, leading to the failing of some private wells.  To prevent further water shortages, the NH Department of Environmental Services is advising water be reserved for only indoor uses and that wide indoor use be practiced per the actions they include in the notice posted below.

Water tanks may be filled by a bulk water hauler.  A list of bulk water haulers can be found at

Would you need special assistance in an emergency?  It's important for you or a loved one to advise the Town's first responders so that in the event of a natural disaster, man-made disaster, emergency or "shelter in place" so that they will be better able to assist you.

The EMD (Emergency Management Director), Alexandria Volunteer Fire Department Chief and Health Officer have made available an Access and Functional Needs Form.  This form will be available at the Selectmen's Office and on the Town's website (
CLICK HERE for the form).  This information will be kept confidential and used for local official use only in the event of an emergency.

Examples for assistance may be medical/pharmaceutical, maintaining independence, transportation, and notification of person(s) or relatives to assist you.
